Watchdog says EPA should collect stimulus back from Eugene nonprofit

The Office of the Inspector General of the Environmental Protection Agency has recommended the agency get $9 million in stimulus back from a Engene nonprofit that planned to upgrade trucks with clean diesel technology.

The agency watchdog found such major problems with Cascade Sierra Solutions' accounting that it urged the EPA to consider suspending or barring the organization from all current and future grant awards.

Its report said Cascade Sierra Solutions' accounting "did not support that funds drawn are reasonable, allocatable, and allowable... As a result, we are unable to provide an opinion on the financial resources, related liabilities, revenue, expenses, and residual balances."

Only $9 million? what about Solyndra adn the other boondoggle croney payoffs. What not get that money back? It sounds like Cascade Sierra at least has some accounting to look at and examine. That appears to be more than we heard about regarding Solyndra.
