Oregon jobs rebound faster than U.S.

Oregon's economy rebounded faster than the U.S. since the recession's end in 2009, but just barely.

The state's job base has grown 2.4 percent in the last three years, placing it among the middle of its peers and just above the U.S. rate of 2 percent. The ranks of Oregon's unemployed, meanwhile, have dropped 26.6 percent in the same time frame, nearly doubling the nation's drop.

Both factors illustrate the state's slow-growing recovery, according to a new Oregon Employment Department chart that plots all 50 states' post-recession gains. It detailed the findings yesterday on its Oregon Workforce & Economic Information blog.
