Facebook discloses Prineville power use

Facebook released data on its total power consumption, including electricity use at its Prineville data center.

The Prineville data center used 71 million kilowatt hours of power last year, equivalent to the usage of roughly 6,000 homes (Crook County has 8,800 households).

That's only a starting point, because the center didn't open until April and because Facebook is now building a second, matching site next door.
