The U.S. Marine Corps placed a $29 million order for Lacrosse Footwear-owned Danner boots.

The boots will be made at the Danner factory, located east of Portland International Airport. The "RAT" is constructed with full-grain leather and tear resistant 1000 Denier nylon along with Vibram-brand outsole. The waterproof boot has a Gore-Tex-brand lining and features a moisture wicking lining with quick draining vent holes.
