Cooper Bussman Transportation plans to lay off 74 workers from its Tualatin plant.
The news arrives three weeks after its Ireland-based parent company Cooper Industries PLC was acquired by Eaton Corp. in an $11.46 billion deal. The two will combine to form a new company, with plans to incorporate in Ireland.
It becomes the second employer there in just more than a month to announce dozens of layoffs. Lumber Products Inc. said in May that it would cut 65 workers as it attempts to shore up its business operations.
