Kenny & Zuke's Delicatessen plans to open a bagel shop in the current home of their second location, Northwest Portland's Sandwichworks.

Bagelworks, at 2376 N.W. Thurman St., could prove the launching point for a city-wide expansion, a growth fueled by a new rotating, double-rack, steam-injection Baxter oven currently being installed.

"If we want to, we should be able to do another six or eight bagel shops around the area," [Ken Gordon] says.

If they make good bagels this is an excellent move. There's a need for this now that the Kettleman's/Ein stein Bros transition is complete. Einstein Bros bagels are the worst. The absolute worst.
