HP to cut 25,000 jobs

Hewlett-Packard is considering cutting 8% of its workforce, or 25,000 jobs.

At one time, HP's printer group was concentrated in Corvallis, Vancouver and Boise. Successive cuts have dramatically reduced all three sites, and HP will no longer say how many remain at each location.

However, the company still does key printer research in Corvallis, home to at least several hundred employees.
