BP to restart refinery blamed for Pacific Northwest gas prices

BP plans to restart its Cherry Point refinery by month's end.

Its shutdown along with three in California has been blamed for the recent spike in gas prices on the West Coast.

Collectively, the four refineries are capable of turning as much as 723,000 barrels of crude oil a day into gas.

In Oregon, the average price for regular unleaded stood at $4.205 a gallon Wednesday, an 18-cent, or 4.6 percent, jump in the last week. By comparison, the national average is $3.73. That's a 2-cent decline in the last week and an 18-cent drop in the last month.

BP has pulled this close a refinery or two during peak consumption times trick way too many times for it be a coincidence. Ya Think they maybe they are making us pay for their fiasco in the Gulf, like there was any doubt who would end up with the bill for their incompetence.
