Zidell Cos. buys South Waterfront building

Zidell Cos. bought a 43,000-square-foot South Waterfront office building in Portland, bringing its holdings in the district to 33 acres.

The price wasn't disclosed, but the property is valued at $5.4 million. The seller, GHS LLC, bought it for $7.5 million in 2006.

After a cleanup that wrapped up late last year, the family announced plans to develop much of its property in the district now characterized to the south by condo towers, Oregon Health & Science University offices and the Portland Aerial Tram.
