Oregon 's first recycling facility to transform plastic beverage bottles made using polyethylene terephthalate (PET) opens this week.
The plant is based near St. Helens and has been anticipated since late 2009 when a coalition...first announced plans for the facility. The state-of-the-art facility will convert plastic bottles collected by Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative and market the results to Northwest companies, aiming to reduce the carbon impact of and and add a new local option for the regional plastics supply chain. From Oregon Translational Research and Development Institute: OTRADI today announced its plans to open and operate a 13,000 square-foot multi-tenant bioscience complex in the Willamette Wharf building at 4640 SW Macadam Avenue. Slated to be complete in spring 2013, the OTRADI Bioscience Incubator (OBI) will house up to six companies.
