Online education startup Treehouse has raised $4.75 million in investment backing and is moving its headquarters to Portland from Florida.
In an e-mail, Carson said that he plans to move to Portland in September and base Treehouse's executive and product teams here. He said he hopes to establish a base of 10 employees in Oregon.

Yesterday, a divided National Labor Relations Board dropped another hammer on the employer community. In a long-awaited and much debated move, the Board jettisoned the decades old standard for determining when two independent businesses should be considered joint employers of an individual worker for collective bargaining purposes.
