Oregon Commission for Women suffers internal conflicts

Relationships between the former chair and current chair and vice chair of the Oregon Commission for Women are so strained that they are causing internal problems.

Another member of the commission resigned in August following a no-confidence vote, and the board of the agency's non-profit support group, the Friends of the Oregon Commission for Women, was disbanded and replaced after a dispute over fundraising. 
Complaints and responses filed with the Oregon Department of Justice and obtained by The Oregonian through Oregon's public records law show the accusations traded among former and current commissioners range from "slander" to "bullying" to "nepotism." The Justice Department reviewed the complaints and plans no action. 
But the drama surrounding the commission continues, with some worried that it will hamper efforts to ensure women's equality in both private and public life.
