Portland considers selling toilets

The Portland City Council is considering a contract to market its public toilets to other cities.

The contractor will be entitled to 10 percent of the sales price of any toilet, according to the contract to be considered Wednesday.
The ordinance submitted by Portland Water Commissioner Randy Leonard awards the contract to a number of private citizens involved in the initial design and construction of the toilets. They include Curtis Banger of CB Design, Madden Industrial Craftsmen and Carol McCreary, principal associate with Steel Bridge, a local consulting firm.
