Eugene-based Innovative Sports is suing Columbia Sportswear, alleging that it stole the local firm's technology for heated clothing.
Innovative Sports said it wants Columbia to stop making heated clothing that the Eugene firm claims uses its technology, and to pay Innovative Sports for the losses it alleges it has suffered as a result, including lost business relationships.
Also named in its lawsuit, filed Tuesday in Lane County Circuit Court, is a Vancouver, Wash., firm, NCS Power, that Innovative Sports said improperly gave its confidential technology, information and products to Columbia. The Allyn Group of Allyn, Wash., which Innovative Sports describes as NCS’ “alter ego,” also is named in the suit.
The lawsuit charges both Columbia and NCS with violating Oregon’s trade secrets law, intentional interference with prospective economic advantage, and breach of contract.
