Salem-based HBW Leads plans to triple its capacity and hire 150 telemarketers.

Founded by a group of local insurance agents six years ago, HBW Leads currently has about 250 employees at offices in Salem and Portland. Its telemarketers make cold calls to consumers on behalf of insurance companies and provide sales leads for insurance agents.
“We’re darn near tripling our abilities here,” said Lauren Jones, who serves as HBW Leads’ hiring manager. The company is expanding its workforce because of contracts with State Farm Insurance, Allstate Insurance and Nationwide Insurance, she said.
