Clackamas County commissioners approved the purchase of the Blue Heron Paper Company's West Linn site.
The $1.75 million deal will now enter a 60-day due diligence period, during which county officials will conduct a full environmental assessment. If any contamination is found, the county could still walk away from the purchase. Clackamas County is pursuing the site in order to obtain its outfall permits, which would allow the county to release treated wastewater into the river from the property.
