Salem reservoir will bolster business recruiting

The Mill Creek Reservoir in Salem will enhance water pressure for firefighting and open up more property for development.

System development charges, paid by builders, and loans from the state's economic development department provided the funding for the new reservoir.

The reservoir will also serve a second, nearby industrial park, the 80-acre Salem Renewable Energy and Technology Center. A solar cell factory owned by Panasonic occupies a portion of the industrial park, located in the 5470 block of Gaffin Road SE.
