The mental health nonprofit will undertake a $6.5 million reconstruction of its Gresham campus.

he campus, which was first occupied by Kerr services in 1915, has been rejuvenated to include three main projects. The first will replace the aging 6,600-square-foot building that houses a program for youth with both developmental disabilities and mental health issues with two smaller home-like structures.

The second will expand a psychiatric care service for children experiencing a psychiatric crisis, which aims to prevent young people from doing harm to themselves or others. The existing 11,000-square-foot facility will be expanded by an additional 6,000 square feet to meet best practice standards and increase service capacity by 33 percent.

The third will create a central hub supporting critically needed mental health services in homes and communities throughout Oregon. It will consolidate children’s mental health practitioners in one location by expanding an existing historic building by 10,000 square feet while maintaining its entrance and character.
