Jive Software tops quarterly sales forecast

Jive's Q2 sales totaled $43.4 million, up 23.2% from last year.

Jive's headquarters are in California but its largest operations are in downtown Portland, where it employs 250. It makes social networking software designed to help employees communicate with one another, and with customers.

Jive lost $14.6 million, 21 cents a share, in the second quarter. That compares to a loss of $17.8 million, 27 cents a share, in the second quarter last year.
