Total Office Interiors named business of the year

The Salem Area Chamber of Commerce selected the family-owned business that has served the capital for 60 years.

A chamber committee selected Total Office Interiors out of the 15 nominations because they were impressed that it was a solid family business with a successful succession plan, said Jessica Chambers, director of communications for the chamber.

The award came has a complete surprise to owner Greg Riggs. He was invited to attend the Forum Speaker Series luncheon Monday by a friend, not knowing his company was to be honored along with the chambers' volunteers and outgoing board members.
