ECONorthwest to expand northwest presence

The Eugene-based economic consulting firm aims to expand into Portland and Seattle markets.

The new ownership group wants to take the “very credible and valuable brand” that the founders have established in Oregon and expand it throughout the Northwest, especially in the Seattle area, said John Tapogna, president of ECONorthwest and one of its new owners.

The firm will keep its presence in Eugene with eight people, including founder Ed Whitelaw, 73, who splits his time between Bend and Eugene and continues to teach at the UO.
