Kitzhaber: Election is about more than Cover Oregon

Gov. John Kitzhaber thinks job creation, public safety, tax reform and negative population growth in rural Oregon will all play a role in determining the state's next governor.

Gov. John Ktizhaber thinks his re-election race will be about more than "a failed website."

Kitzhaber is the presumptive nominee for his party, but five Republicans — including Rep. Dennis Richardson, R-Central Point — are vying to be his challenger.

Richardson is campaigning in part on the failures of Cover Oregon, saying that the "house cleaning" won't be done until the governor is voted out of office.

Why does John Kitzhaber want to be governor? He seems to have little interest in what's happening in this state. Our economy is moribund. The environmentalis ts have destroyed thousands of jobs. And the Cover Oregon debacle that was easily predicted but ignored by Kitz as he shopped for cowboy boots and jeans. I knew something was wrong with Cover Oregon in AUGUST when they installed those idiotic billboards that had no information. You couldn't find out anything about Cover Oregon only a few months prior to its launch. I'm just an average citizen. Why was I aware and the GOVERNOR in the dark? Don't disturb his nap. Let November go by and wake him up when the election is over.

Of course he wants it to be more than the miserable Cover Oregon failure! It was his watch that failed regardless of who he fired - his ultimate responsibility
