Energy department director resigns

Lisa Schwartz resigned as director of the Oregon Department of Energy after a little more than a year.

The Department of Energy provided no notification of or reason for Schwart’z resignation, but quickly changed its website to note that the director’s position was vacant and that Deputy Director Michael Kaplan was serving as acting director. 

 Schwartz and the Department of Energy did not return calls for comment. Gov. John Kitzhaber’s office replied with a short statement: “I thank Lisa for her service to the state of Oregon."
