Online banking firm expands in downtown Portland

Simple Finance Corp. will expand into a second office in the Alderway Building.

The company, which has occupied its 9,000-square-foot Pearl office since 2012, previously indicated it is looking for room to expand. At the time of the acquisition, CEO Josh Reich said he was looking for bigger offices in downtown, the Pearl and the East Side.

Simple is up to 114 staffers, up from 77 at the start of 2014. Much of this growth is happening in customer relations, engineering and business operations.
