Muut raised the money during an investment round led by the Oregon Angel Fund.
Muut aims to take on the “memes, funny pictures, viral videos, and trolling responses” that pollute most online commenting systems. It’s designed to be easy to embed on any website and to emphasize “the most interesting and pertinent parts of the conversation.”
The company has nine employees distributed around the world, and four categories of open jobs listed on its website. Founded a year ago this month, Muut says it has 300,000 users on 28,000 forums.
