HoneyComb Corp. received a $150,000 grant from Oregon BEST to pursue drone research.
The project, by HoneyComb Corp., would use drones to spot areas of distressed crops and count trees in the forest. That would cut down on labor costs, allowing farmers to target irrigation efforts and growers to more efficiently estimate timber values.
Grant money will help fund research work with Oregon State University to verify the accuracy of HoneyComb's drone data.
