Oregonians between the age 25 and 34 spend approximately $564 per year on liquor.

Drinking, state economist Mark McMullen found, appears to be recession proof, especially in Oregon. McMullen used state and federal data to classify an alcohol industry “cluster” of breweries, wineries, distilleries, beer and wine distributors and wholesales, stores that sell alcohol and establishments that cater to drinkers.
