Google Fiber considering Portland

The Silicon Valley company wants to expand its fiber-optic network to nine metro areas.

Google Fiber offers Internet connections that run 1 gigabit per second – roughly 100 times the current U.S. average. 

Service could begin as soon as 2015, the company said.
