Oregon agriculture booming, grower worries linger

Agriculture is the state's second biggest economic sector, but farmers and processors worry about tighter food safety regulations.

The chief concern among Oregon growers, including onion farmers, tree-nut producers and blueberry growers is proposed new regulations on irrigation water. As written, the proposal would require intense testing for microbes in water long before harvesting.
