Seaside is seeking funding for the relocation of the South County Community Food Bank.
The city will try to secure funding for the relocation of the food bank through a grant administered by the Oregon Business Development Department and funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Development.
The city’s application will seek $1.5 million to fund a range of activities, including the purchase of the building, the engineering and design of the building’s improvements, construction of those improvements, legal and administrative costs and relocation costs for M&F Plumbing.
Approximately $12 million is available statewide for projects in rural cities and counties in this fiscal year, and the funds must be used for projects that benefit only low- or moderate-income people.
