The Bonneville Power Administration said Monday that its executives did not commission a contractor's report criticizing a recent audit of the agency's hiring practices.
The report, authored by Avue Technologies Corp. and dated Sept. 27, said many of the ratings and conclusions in DOE's audit "are without merit." They were based on the erroneous assumption that BPA, a self-funded agency with its own statutory authorities, is subject to all DOE human resources policies. While DOE Human Capital Management director Ken Venuto concluded that BPA faced a "monumental" task recovering from its hiring problems, Avue said that was "nothing more than hyperbole."
