The Oregon Legislature cut PERS, raised taxes on the wealthy, cut small business taxes and more in its three day special session.
“It was very hairy, very scary and very nerve racking,” Senate President Peter Courtney said. “We did get in trouble. Serious trouble.”
The end result is $100 million for education, $40 million for colleges and universities and more money for health and human services. What that will mean in concrete terms, however, is yet to be decided.
