Oregon's Senate Republicans are only willing to deal on PERS and taxes if business tax relief is included.
Senate Minority Leader Ted Ferrioli says that the business tax cut plan offered by Republicans was the "deal-killer" during the regular session. Kitzhaber called the proposal too complex to pass in the waning weeks of the session.
In his series of roundtable discussions with education and business leaders, the governor has spoken mainly of further pension cuts linked to some targeted tax increases. He hasn't delved into the business tax relief issue.
