The Portland City Council is considering spending $4,300,000 to remodel warehouses into a Portland Police Bureau training center.
Currently, the police bureau doesn't have any training facilities.
The council has already approved project, which will be built on 9.6 acres of land at 14912 N.E. Airport Way. The city purchased the property for $6.4 million in April 2012. It includes 60,000 square feet of warehouse buildings, which will be remodeled for the training center.
Altogether, the city has spent and anticipates spending $$13,285,748 on the project. It is being financed by the sale of $15 million in bonds on May 2012.
