Portland gained thousands of jobs in June, despite losses throughout the rest of the state.
A state report out Monday said metro-area employers added a seasonally adjusted 4,800 jobs last month. At the same time, the state shed 1,000 jobs.
Unemployment, meanwhile, inched down from 7.4 percent to 7.3 percent. Joblessness either increased or flatlined in Oregon's five other metro areas.
