Daimler Trucks workers end strike

Daimler Trucks North America's Swan Island plant workers ended a strike after three weeks.

Members of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades Local 1094 and the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers Local 1005 ratified new contract terms on Saturday and Monday respectively.

They had been striking over wages since July 1. The unions sought a $1.95 increase on an average $23.33-an-hour wage, while Daimler offered a $1.30-an-hour pay raise. The new contract terms include a $1.55 an hour raise and lasts 40 months.

Wages at the plant had been frozen for four years.
