Sherwood community can now regulate businesses

The Sherwood City Council moved the power to regulate big box retailers to residents, business owners and voters.

The Sherwood City Council voted Tuesday night to create a special committee that would draft ordinances, proposed after the May announcement of a Walmart coming to town, for councilors to place on the November ballot.

Such regulations under consideration include limitations on 24 hour businesses and overnight RV parking as well as a part-time workers bills of rights.
