Oregon incentive data incomplete

Oregon officials have filed only six of 18 required reports on $665 million in subsidies.

Most reports were incomplete or missing altogether, according to Portland-based OSPIRG Foundation, which bills itself as an independent think tank that pushes for government transparency.

"Revealing Tax Subsidies" details the two years since lawmakers moved to track incentives through annual reports. By OSPIRG's count, the statute now covers 18 programs -- from tax credits for egg processing equipment to those for green manufacturers. SolarWorld and SoloPower both tapped millions through the latter, the manufacturing Business Energy Tax Credit.
