Oregon gun control bills unlikely

Chances of gun control legislation passing in Oregon are slim after Senate president Peter Courtney said the votes "just aren't there."

“I am going to form a work group to see if a bipartisan solution can be reached before the end of session, particularly around the issue of background checks,” Senate President Peter Courtney, D-Salem, said in a statement.

[Sen. Brian Boquist] said at this point the bills appear to be dead.
