The Beaverton-based Oregon Technology Business Center will target poor and rural areas with online classes focused on entrepeneurship.
The eight-week free summer series, which starts Friday, is the nonprofit's latest "experiment," says executive director Steve Morris. The organization leases office space to tech startups and frequently hosts boot camps, workshops and seminars for growing businesses.
Morris, who is from Pendleton, said he's going after poor rural areas, places of higher unemployment and low-income neighborhoods, places that are eligible for Department of Commerce grants.
