Designed to replace the Business Energy Tax Credit, the grant program will open for applications next week.

The full amount allotted to the grant program for the year is $463,253.85. It's a far cry from the $300 million in incentives that were available every two years under the BETC program.

The grants will be available for systems that use biomass, solar, geothermal, hydroelectric, wind, landfill gas, biogas and wave, tidal or ocean power to produce energy.
