Eugene-Springfield area contributes to Oregon's LEED numbers

Oregon was recently ranked 5th nationally for LEED projects, and the Eugene-Springfield area is responsible for a large chunk of the green projects.

Big projects certified locally, beginning in 2005, include the UO’s Lillis Business Complex, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines call center in Springfield and the U.S. Courthouse in Eugene.

And, last year, the 59,000-square-foot Kendall Toyota dealership in “little ol’ Eugene, Oregon” became the only LEED platinum-rated automobile facility in the world, owner Paul Skillern said in an earlier interview.

This year will send the Eugene-Springfield LEED square footage soaring when all 450,000 square feet of the Matthew Knight Arena is certified.
