$41.5 million more funding for Solexant

California company Solexant, who many hope will build a thin-film solar plant in Oregon, has received $41.5 million in a third round of financing.

The company is eyeing locations near Gresham, Fairview and Wilsonville, and say the deal looks "promising."

The Oregon Energy Department has precertified Solexant for a business-energy tax credit to cover half of $37.5 million in eligible costs.

The company is also seeking a $25 million loan from the state agency. If approved, the loan would be the largest extended by the state energy-loan program, which has operated for three decades.

Again, a company doing 'green' technology that can't be funded by someone expecting to make a 'profit', this stuff isn't even break-even or they could find people to invest and make a PROFIT.
