The Eugene Water & Electric Board is reviewing plans for its waterfront property, which include restaurants, a boardwalk and even a view tower.

The board's commissioners and the public will soon get a chance to review the plans, before the final version is submitted to the city in June.

The utility, which is moving operations and maintenance functions from land along the Willamette River to west Eugene, ultimately aims sell the property to a developer who will have to find a way to make a profit developing the site, while following the elaborate requirements of city government’s vision.

How development takes place there is governed by a Eugene city code that requires a master plan for any uses not associated with EWEB.
