Second Adams recall starts

After the first effort to recall Portland Mayor Sam Adams failed in October, the second campaign kicks off today with more funding and paid help.

Columbia Sportswear chief executive Tim Boyle and auto dealer Ron Tonkin are among the campaign's financial backers from the business community.

"This issue needs to be put before Portland voters so they can decide the city's future," former state Sen. Avel Gordly said in a statement expected to be released this morning.

"This is about uplifting the integrity and character of our city and rejecting the politics of win by any means necessary."
