Columbia head supports recall

Although he would not say how much he plans to contribute, Columbia Sportswear President and CEO Tim Boyle says he will support the new campaign to recall Portland Mayor Sam Adams.

Boyle declined to criticize Adams personally or question his effectiveness as mayor. Instead, Boyle says he believes Portland voters should have an opportunity to decide on whether Adams stays in office.

“Adams is an ambitious guy who works very hard, but the electorate should have a chance to says whether he should be recalled,” Boyle says.

Personally, I like the products that his company makes, and I won't stop buying them because of his political opinions (although some people undoubtedly will), but really, who (other than his one tough mother, Gert, and Tim himself) actually cares about what Tim Boyle thinks? Who at Oregon Business decided that this was even newsworthy?
