A new $30 million health and wellness center recently broke ground at Western Oregon University and is expected to be completed by 2011.
WOU officials, students, state legislators and community members marked the groundbreaking of the future health and wellness center Monday morning.
Heather Russell was among the student voters who passed a tax in May 2008 that would help pay for the $30 million academic, recreation and athletic complex. The students also pay a $45 annual fee toward the building fund.
