Businessman Randy Moore has been getting positive feedback about creating a compromise between business and labor. The goal is to avert a fight over Gov. Kulongoski's recently signed tax increases.

One idea is for the Legislature to backtrack and accept a proposal by the centrist Oregon Business Association to make more of the tax increases temporary instead of permanent.

[Moore] reasons that the fight over the tax increases could destroy collaboration between some businesses and labor, and wind up punching a $733 million hole in the 2009-11 budget if voters overturn the tax measures.
