The Democrats who let this year's legislative session acted on the hope that Oregon's economy will improve soon.

Whether it was pushing an aggressive package of tax increases or turning aside Gov. Ted Kulongoski's plea to put money in reserves, the Democrats are betting their political futures on an economy that at least doesn't worsen.

"If the people feel like we're not making progress and getting to a better stretch (economically), I think they will take it out on us," admitted Rep. Peter Buckley, D-Ashland, the House's budget chief.

Once again the Oregon Legislature has beheaded to economy. When will any of you learn?
The Democrats run the major populated areas by giving away your money to those who refuse to work and contribute. I am all for a hand up!!
It is mandatory we Vote them out,take control and cut back BIG govermnent!!
We the People will stand up and be counted, you just sit back and watch!!!
