Recovery for Oregon businesses may take awhile despite hopes that the economy will bounce back as promised.

Local business leaders say they hope predictions that the recession will be over by year’s end are true. But they don’t expect their problems to disappear when the recession ends.

They know that new challenges will emerge as the economy stabilizes and takes the first, tentative steps on what is expected to be a long, slow path to recovery.

People such as Forrest Paint CEO Scott Forrest says it’s important to plan now in order to move quickly when the time comes.
